Voices of Indiana giving two-night production of Annie Jr.

AURORA, IN (FOX19) - Performance group Voices of Indiana is putting on a production of Annie Jr.

Performances of Annie Jr. will happen on Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28 at 7pm in South Dearborn High School auditorium in Aurora.

The title role is being played by Cammie Caldwell, who will be in 6th grade at Sunman-Dearborn Intermediate School. “Playing Annie is my dream role. I tried out for another production of Annie three years ago and was really close to being cast, but was too short. Of course I’ve grown a bit in three years…I knew this could be my last shot at the role.”

The Annie Jr. cast includes singers age 18 and under, grades 4-12. Directed by Susan Budd and Jennifer Eliason,  Admission is $7 for adults or $5 for students; tickets are available at the door (cash or check accepted). Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 812.260.2020.

INDOT crews working overnight hours at I-74 bridge sites

IN (FOX19) - Maintenance crews from the Indiana Department of Transportation unit at Penntown have been scheduled to work nighttime hours through Wednesday night—at bridge locations along Interstate 74.  There will be alternating lane closures both eastbound and westbound between I-74 mile markers 160 and 171. 

INDOT advises motorists to drive with care approaching work sites.

Operations will begin at 8 p.m. each evening and continue until 6 a.m. the next day.  Inclement weather could delay the scheduled maintenance work.

One dead, one injured following Jennings Co. crash

JENNINGS COUNTY, IN (FOX19)- A single vehicle accident left one dead and one seriously
injured in Jennings County, Indiana.

Authorities say that a single vehicle was traveling
southbound on State Route 7 near County Road 50 around 1:40 a.m. when the
vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle rolled several times ejecting both
occupants.

Sherry Speer, a 49-year-old North Vernon woman, was
pronounced dead at the scene.

James Brewner, 50, was airlifted to University of Louisville
Hospital with serious injuries.

There were no witnesses to the crash. Since both occupants
were ejected, police do not know which individual was driving.

Neither of the occupants was restrained. Alcohol is believed
to be a factor.

Changes coming to Indiana churches

BATESVILLE, IN (FOX19)- Several changes are coming to the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, which affects several Catholic churches in the southeast Indiana area.

Archbishop Joseph W. Tobin made the following remarks during a press conference at St.  Louis Church in Batesville on June 6:

"I would like to speak with you this morning about some
decisions that will affect thirty parishes of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
As you may be aware, the parishes of the Archdiocese are organized in regional
configurations, called deaneries. The decisions I am about to announce will
affect the twenty-seven parishes of the Batesville Deanery as well as two
parishes in the adjoining Connersville Deanery and one parish from the Seymour
Deanery.

"Before giving you the concrete details of what has been determined,
allow me to highlight the process that produced the decisions.

Golf event raises funds for fallen firefighters and family

RISING SUN, IN (FOX19)- A local fundraiser strives to raise money for fallen firefighters and their families.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will host their 5th Annual Greater Cincinnati Golf Tournament on Friday to benefit the cause.  It is the region's only golf tournament that benefits the families and survivors of the brave men and women lost serving their community.

For the fifth consecutive year, the event will be held at Rising Star Casino and Resort. Participants can choose from two start tomes: 8:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

For the registration fee of $90, each golfer will receive 18 holes of golf, complimentary food and drinks, discount room pricing and various prizes.

On April 4, 2008, Colerain Township Fire Department suffered the loss of Captain Robin Broxterman and firefighter Brian Schira in a structure fire on Squirrelsnest Lane.

Switzerland County Museums offer "Night at the Museum"-Vevay, IN

VEVAY, IN (FOX19)  - The Switzerland County Historical Museum presents a “Night at the Museum” on Friday, June 7. The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. during Vevay Main Street’s “Chalk the Walk” First Friday in Vevay, Indiana.

The public is invited to Chalk the Walk at the Switzerland County Historical and the Life on the Ohio River museums enjoying an evening of fun mingled with unique local history.

The Sidewinders 4-H Club has a festive evening planned that includes balloons, a Bouncy-House, cookies and an opportunity for artistic visitors to create sidewalk art.

Tour the museums and add to your growing knowledge of Switzerland County, especially helpful as Vevay-Switzerland County celebrates their Bicentennial this year. Admission is free.
